Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program

Alberta is one of the most dynamically developing provinces in Canada. Alberta is located in Western Canada and has a rapidly growing economy, which is based on its vast natural resources.  Two large cities of Calgary and Edmonton are situated in the province. Alberta is the most densely populated of the country’s three “prairies”. It is one of the most beautiful provinces of North America, known for its national parks such as Banff and Jasper.

Alberta has its own provincial immigration program. As part of this program, potential immigrants who have specific skills and experience and have ties to the province can receive a nomination certificate from the Government of Alberta, which will accelerate the overall process of immigration.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) consists of three main immigration streams:

  • Alberta Opportunity Stream
  • Alberta Express Entry Stream
  • Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream

Alberta Opportunity Stream

Alberta Opportunity Stream – has replaced two old programs Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream. The new program allows people meeting the minimum requirements who work in Alberta in a suitable profession to apply for the nomination from the province.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

Alberta Express Entry Stream – allows the Alberta government to select candidates from the pool of the Federal Entry Express selection system. A successful nomination within this stream leads to 600 additional points of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream

Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream – allows individuals with experience in farming and having enough money to purchase and develop a farm in Alberta, apply for permanent residence. Success is guaranteed to the owners/managers of farms that plan to live in Alberta to purchase a farm and manage their business.
