Nova Scotia Nominee Program
Nova Scotia is a small Canadian province located in the Atlantic coastal region of the country. The province of Nova Scotia consists of the peninsula of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton Island and more than 3,000 small islands. Its capital, the city of Halifax, is known as a fairly large cultural center with a high standard of living. The province of Nova Scotia is famous for the beauty of its coastal strip and delicious cuisine.
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is designed for immigrants with skills and experience needed by the provincial economy and targeted to the province’s labour market. The NSNP is aimed to accelerate the overall immigration to the province.
NSNP consists of several immigration streams:
- Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
- Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Entrepreneur Stream
- International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
This stream was launched on January 1, 2015, and is aimed at highly qualified specialists with education and qualifications that will help them successfully settle in Nova Scotia. There is a list of 29 occupations that can apply for immigration within this stream.
Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
The province of Nova Scotia uses the Federal selection system Express Entry to select candidates for this stream. It is aimed at highly qualified candidates who have worked in the province for at least one year.
Skilled worker stream
Under this stream, applications from those candidates who have received a job offer from one of the companies registered in Nova Scotia are accepted. Employees of skilled, semi-skilled and low-skilled occupations are eligible to apply.
Entrepreneur Stream is intended to attract people who want to start or acquire a business and constantly settle in the province of Nova Scotia.
International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
This stream is designed for Nova Scotia graduates who have worked in Nova Scotia as private entrepreneurs/businesses for at least one year and intend to reside permanently in Nova Scotia.
