Express Entry Draws: Canada Invites 829 PNP Candidates

Canada has invited 829 PNP candidates to apply for permanent residency. The April 27th express entry draw candidates had a minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking Score) of 772, which is 10 points lower than the previous draw and they have all had previously received a Provincial Nominee Program nomination.

It was announced on April 22nd that the Express Entry draws that consist of the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades will resume soon and invitations to apply will start to go out in July.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is one of the pathways to immigrating to Canada for some of the most popular programs, which include Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Programs. It allows candidates to submit their profile and be chosen to become permanent residents based on some factors which include age, education, work experience, language ability, and others.

It uses a points-based system, the Comprehensive Ranking System, to assign points and choose top candidates to invite to apply for permanent residency. These draws happen biweekly throughout the year.

Express Entry for Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, and Canadian Experience Class is currently on hold. The only active draw is the PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) draw.
