On August 8, 2018, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new draw of candidates from the Express Entry system. This is already the sixteenth round of invitations in 2018 and 96th since the launch of this selection system in 2015. IRCC again sent Invitations to Apply (ITA) to 3750 candidates. It seems that it is going to be a standard number for each round. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of this draw was 440 CRS. This is the lowest score in 2018. The same lowest score was also shown on May 23, 2018.

The new draw was the fifth draw in which 3,750 candidates received ITAs. Thus, the total number of candidates from the pool who received ITA during this summer has already reached 18,750. The Canadian government continues to invite the maximum possible number of immigrants each draw. Since the quota has increased to 3750 ITA per one invitation round, the minimum CRS score continues to remain in the range of 440-450.

Express Entry is an online selection system for Canadian immigration, designed to select skilled workers for immigration to Canada. Foreign nationals can immigrate through one of the Federal programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, or through the Provincial Nominee Programs.

The Express Entry system selects candidates based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for their age, education, work experience, and knowledge of the Canadian official languages.

As of August 1, 2018, the Express Entry system registered 87,573 profiles of candidates wishing to immigrate to Canada.
