On August 22, 2018, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new draw of candidates from the Express Entry system. This is already the seventeenth round of invitations in 2018 and 97th since the launch of this selection system in 2015. IRCC again sent Invitations to Apply (ITA) to 3750 candidates. It seems like this was the last round of invitations in summer 2018. In the remaining week of August, there will be no more draws and the next candidates will get the ITAs in early September. Thus, Green Light Canada provides a brief overview of the Express Entry results of this summer.

Today, IRCC again sent ITAs to 3,750 candidates. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of this draw was 440 CRS. This is the third time of the lowest CRS in 2018. The same lowest score was also shown on May 23, 2018, and August 8, 2018.

Express Entry: Trends of Summer 2018

In the last six rounds of invitations, Canada invited 3,750 candidates each draw. Our consultants are convinced that this quota per one draw will remain a regular number. The total number of candidates from the Express Entry pool who received ITA during this summer is 22,500. The Canadian government continues to invite the maximum possible number of immigrants each draw. During the summer, the lowest CRS has dropped to 440.

In total, this year Canada has already invited 54,700 candidates out of 74,900 planned. In 2019, the government expects to invite 81,400 immigrants through the Express Entry system.
