Why Employment-Based Immigration?
Around 300,000 people immigrate to Canada every year, and the vast majority choose employment-based immigration to do it.
The reason is that getting a job offer makes you a great candidate to fill Canada’s labour shortages and contribute to the country’s economy. Gaining employment in Canada is a great way to become a permanent resident and, eventually, a Canadian citizen.
While that’s true, there isn’t just one way to apply to move to Canada through the job market if you live in the UAE. Let’s take a closer look at the most popular streams available.
Four Priority Streams to Move to Canada In 2022
For Emiratis looking to move to Canada, choosing one of these immigration streams will give you the best possible chance.
Processing Time: Up to 12 months
To apply for Express Entry, you must be a candidate with high or technical education who has proven work experience and good English and/or French levels. Priority will be given to candidates with Canadian Work Experience and those holding an LMIA certificate from Service Canada issued after submitting their application form on our website!
Processing Time: 18-24 months
Since the criteria for entry into Express Entry are based on one’s background, such as age or education level, those wanting a different type of sponsorship need to look no further than provincial programs. There are over 25 of these programs available, which are suitable for any Emiratis with ties to a province, such as through a job offer.
Processing Time: 6-9 months
If you’re looking to immigrate through this program, you’ll need an offer from a company in one of the Atlantic Provinces. If you do, then the requirements are lower than with many other streams. You’ll only need a secondary education, basic French or English, and a year of work experience.
Through a Work Visa
Processing Time: 6-8 months
A great way to immigrate to Canada permanently is first to obtain a work visa through a job offer. Due to Canada’s labour shortages, there are many opportunities available. After working for one year, you can apply for the more secure immigration process.
The Challenge of Getting a Job Offer
Getting a job offer is the easiest way to immigrate to Canada. It’s a requirement for a work visa while also being a major factor in whether or not you can become a permanent resident.
But just because there is a labour shortage in Canada, that doesn’t mean getting a job offer is easy for those living in the UAE. This is because:
- It’s hard to find a job remotely when you live so far away
- There is a huge level of competition in the UAE, but also in other foreign countries
Due to this, it’s a good idea to get help with your application. You need to know which immigration stream is most suitable for your circumstances while also knowing how to stand out from the crowd.
