Our partner in Canada is looking for a skilled Cabinet Maker to join their team.
Job Summary: As a Cabinetmaker, you will craft and install custom-made cabinetry and furniture pieces using woodworking techniques and precision craftsmanship. Interpret blueprints, select materials, operate woodworking tools and collaborate with clients and team members to deliver exceptional finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, repair, and install cabinets and cabinet doors.
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and dimensions.
- Select appropriate lumber or other materials for the job.
- Repair any broken or damaged cabinets, drawers, or doors.
- Prepare layout and mark cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shape materials to precise measurements using hand and power tools.
- Assemble cut and shaped materials, and fasten them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
- In addition, install completed cabinets as needed.
- Ensure work meets industry standards and specifications.
- Complete daily logs and submit them to the assistant manager.
- Be willing to work extended hours and weekends when the project demands.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in cabinetry and carpentry.
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience working with laminate surfaces.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings and production documents.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
- Lastly, effective communication abilities with both team members and guests.
Job Conditions:
Monthly salary: Varies according to experience, from $24-$29 an hour.
