The Latest Express Entry Draw has issued another 3,500 invitations.
The eleventh express entry draw of 2023 was conducted by IRCC, wherein a total of 3,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates. The draw included candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 483.
In the last draw held on April 12, 3,500 candidates received invitations to apply in an all-program draw. The candidates had to meet the minimum CRS score requirement of 486.
This draw had only half the number of invitations as the draws on March 15, 23, and 29, which each invited 7,000 candidates over two weeks instead of the regular bi-weekly draws. They also raised the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score from 481 to 486, which is more consistent with the draw sizes and higher CRS scores seen in 2022 and early 2023.
Achievements in Express Entry During March
In March of this year. Express Entry witnessed the issuance of over 21,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) in a single month. The second-highest number of ITAs issued in its history. The highest number of ITAs issued in a single month was in February 2021, when 27,332 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates received invitations in a single draw.
In March 2023, they conducted the largest all-program draw ever, inviting 7,000 candidates in the first draw. They conducted two more draws of the same size, resulting in the invitation of a total of 21,000 candidates over two weeks and the issuance of 21,667 ITAs for the month. The draw on March 1 exclusively targeted candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and issued the remaining 667 ITAs.
What is Express Entry?
Established in 2015, Express Entry is a system for managing applications that evaluates and ranks candidates from three of Canada’s economic class immigration programs:
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Express Entry utilizes the Comprehensive Ranking System to evaluate candidates based on several factors such as work experience, occupation, language proficiency, and education. These factors are crucial indicators of a candidate’s human capital. By using the Comprehensive Ranking System, Express Entry can accurately assess candidates and determine their eligibility for Canadian immigration. Candidates who score high on this system are more likely to receive an invitation to apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw. Generally. The Canadian economy expects highly skilled candidates. From these programs to establish themselves successfully.
If a candidate receives an ITA. They have a 60-day period to submit their final application for permanent residence to IRCC. An immigration officer reviews the application to determine the candidate’s eligibility for permanent resident status.
